A Conversation with Christopher Maltman

In September Christopher Maltman, the well-known operatic baritone, gave his first performances as Wotan in Covent Garden’s new production of Das Rheingold, to considerable critical acclaim. He will be in conversation with John Payne via Zoom on Monday 13th November at 7pm talking about the challenges of singing Wagner, his career, and his future plans.
Christopher Maltman made his debut with The Royal Opera in 1997 and has since sung over fifteen principal roles there. He has performed extensively in the great opera houses of Europe and North America, specialising to date in Italian dramatic baritone repertoire, especially the role of Verdi’s Rigoletto, but also Rodrigo in Don Carlo, the title role of Simon Boccanegra, Ford in Falstaff, and Guy de Montfort in Les Vêpres siciliennes.
