We had hoped that Chris Walton, the distinguished Wagnerian academic and translator, would be giving a talk for our Manchester Wagner Society April slot on Monday April 8th.

Unfortunately, he has had to cancel the talk for this year, for personal reasons.

At short notice, John Payne, our Chair, has agreed to give a talk on ‘Parsifal’s Bells’. It won’t be a piece of original research but rather a musically illustrated talk on the history of the bells used in Parsifal. There’s a lot more to them than meets the eye (and the ear!). Please join us for what, hopefully, will be a not too serious talk……………..
