Roger Scruton and Wagner
February 14th 18.45 for 19.00 zoom meeting talk by John Payne
This will be a celebration of Roger Scruton’s insights into Wagner, with plenty of video/audeo clips from talks he gave, and a presentation of some of the themes that occur throughout his varied writing on the composer. It will not be an academic talk about the philosophical background to Scruton’s 3 books about Wagner. The talk, rather will focus on those areas where Scruton shows special insight into Wagner’s works.
